The Accelerating the Next Revolution In Roadway Safety policy by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) addresses the potential for Highly Automated Vehicles (HAVs) to use vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) capabilities to improve system performance and reduce the number and severity of crashes.
