Drone Programming Challenge

Girls Scouts of Southeastern Michigan

CAAT is pleased to be working with the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan and Women Who Drone organizations to provide 35 local Girl Scouts with an exciting oportunity to learn how to program and fly a drone.

Robolink CoDrone Mini

Girl Scout Cadettes will explore the world of microcontrollers and learn how to program a Robolink CoDrone Mini Programmable Drone in our FREE Girl Scouts Drone Programming Challenge. Will include a virtual session via Zoom, a video competition, and a live, in-person drone flying competition.

Students will experiment through trial and error as they build and program their own drone and learn the foundational concepts of coding. Students will program their own custom flight patterns, learn how to navigate, take off and land, and more.

    • Welcome and Introduction
    • Live virtual instruction via Zoom on building and programming the drone with Saleta McMurray, CAAT Outreach Coordinator
    • Hear from Elena Buenrostro, President & CEO of Women Who Drone, Video Producer, Photographer, Certified Drone Pilot and Instructor
  • Saturday, March 6, 10:00am - 12:00pm
    • Live, in-person drone competition (1st place winner to receive a robot)
      • Location: First United Methodist Church in Troy, MI
    • Deadline to submit competition video (1st place winner to receive a robot)
