    This statement explains the types of information the CAAT gathers from its site users and how that information is used.   

    Linking to External Sites

    Sites within the autocaat.org domain contain hypertext links to information created and maintained by other public and private organizations. The CAAT does not control or guarantee the accuracy, relevance, timeliness or completeness of information of external websites. These external links and their resulting content might change or be removed without our knowledge. At the time a link is  created on autocaat.org, the information accessed by the link is considered valuable, relevant and supportive of CAAT content. 

    Personal Information We Collect and its Use

    When you visit the site, we will not collect personal information about you unless you provide it voluntarily. Personal information includes information that is particular to you such as name and email address. Our primary goal in collecting personal information from you when you visit the site is to provide you the functionality and services that you need to have a meaningful and customized experience while using the site features. If you decide not to provide us with personal information, you can still access this site; however, you may be limited in functionality and privileges.   

    Personally identifiable information collected on the site may be used to: 

    • Fulfill a user request for communication materials or publications related to the site
    • Respond to your comments, requests for information/answer questions
    • Meet a request for or to develop new products or services
    • Make the user experience more customer friendly
    • Verify user identity
    • Pre-populate fields for user convenience
    • Provide you with news and updates should you opt in to a mailing list

    The CAAT does not knowingly collect or use personal information of children. If, despite these efforts, a child has provided us with personal information, a parent or guardian of that child may contact us if they want the information deleted from our records. The CAAT will take reasonable steps to confirm the identity of the parent and to locate and delete information about the child. The site does not sell, rent, share or otherwise provide any of your personally identifiable information to anyone for their independent use. The site may share your information with our suppliers or vendors who provide services to or help operate this site. The supplier is restricted by contract from using this data in any other way other than to provide these services to the CAAT and they may not share or resell this data.

    Aggregate (Non-Personally Identifiable) Information We Collect and Its Use

    The site may place a cookie on your computer upon your visit. Cookies are small text files that allow us to track activity on our site, including where visitors are going and how much time they spend there. Cookies do not provide any personally indentifying information. The site uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, Inc. The non-personally identifiable information generated by cookies about your use of the site is transmitted to and stored by Google on their servers. Non-personal information includes, but is not limited to, the time and duration of your visit, type of web browser used, the operating system/platform you are using, your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the websites that referred you, the pages you visited and the date and time of those visits. Google uses this non-personally identifiable information to compile reports on site activity, and the CAAT may use these reports to improve the site to better meet user wants and needs. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

    We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting personal information collected through the site against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.  Although the site employs security that we believe to be appropriate to protect your personal information, we do not guarantee that our security precautions will protect against, and we expressly disclaim any liability for, any loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information.
