About Us
Formed in 1998, SEMATA's founding principle is to create an environment that fosters communication and training among automotive teachers in southeastern Michigan. In 2018, SEMATA expanded to cover all of Michigan under the name MATA - Michigan Automotive Teachers Association. The organization holds two conferences each year, in the fall the conference is held in southeast Michigan, in the spring it is held elsewhere in Michigan. Each conference includes technical training, compliant with NATEF requirements, along with a tool and equipment show, to help keep our instructors current with the latest technical material.
